The MTSU Faculty Brass Quintet features Professors Michael Arndt, Angela DeBoer, and David Loucky, along with Nashville Symphony Artist Faculty members Jeff Bailey and Gilbert Long. They have presented many concerts in Middle Tennessee featuring some of the most exciting and difficult music for brass quintet. The members of the group are highly active professional brass performers, performing regularly with the Nashville Symphony, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony, the Huntsville Symphony, and numerous free-lance and recording projects. They are committed teachers, serving Middle Tennessee as private teachers, offering brass clinics and performing for high school audiences whenever possible. Collectively, they studied with some of the finest teachers in the world at such institutions as the University of Louisville, the University of Minnesota, Arizona State, the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Bowling Green State University, the University of Alabama, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, DePaul University, Vanderbilt University, the Yale School of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, Northwestern University, the Vienna Conservatory in Austria, the Cologne Music School in Germany, and the Porumbescu National Music Conservatory in Romania.
